Through Maternal Beats, we work to support maternal nutrition so mothers have the nourishment they need for healthy pregnancies and a stronger recovery postpartum—helping them show up fully for their babies and themselves. We believe that when moms are put first, families thrive and communities flourish, creating a ripple of wellness that extends far beyond the home.

Our mission is to provide clear, practical nutrition guidance to help mothers feel supported, confident, and well-nourished throughout pregnancy and postpartum.
My name is Janice L. Hall, Ph.D. I am certified in holistic maternal nutrition and am the founder and owner at Maternal Beats. My introduction to motherhood was blissful, but an unexpected preeclampsia diagnosis quickly turned my first pregnancy into a high-risk journey, filled with clinic visits, tests, and the helplessness that so many mothers know all too well. I realized just how limited maternal care can be—while providers focused on monitoring risks, there was little guidance for the everyday choices that help mothers stay healthy and recover.
With each subsequent pregnancy, I dug deeper into how nutrition, lifestyle, and recovery influence maternal health. Now, as a mother of five, I combine that lived experience with my background in biomedical engineering research. This perspective showed me how nutrition, biological systems, and practical guidance could come together to truly support mothers.
Maternal Beats was born from that insight. I provide whole-foods–first, practical nutrition guidance that mothers can use during pregnancy and postpartum—helping them feel nourished, confident, and empowered to care for themselves and their families.
